Dr. Charles H. Taylor, Sr.

Charles H. Taylor, Sr. is a profound pastor, passionate leader, and eloquent orator and educator engaged in preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, committed to economic justice and empowerment in under-served communities and touching and transforming the lives of the disenfranchised. For 28 years, Dr. Taylor has served as a visionary and innovative senior pastor of Grace Cathedral Church in Houston, Texas. Under his servant leadership, the ministry and membership have grown from less than 30 members in 1989 to over 300.

Dr. Taylor accepted the call to become Senior Pastor of Grace Cathedral Church of Houston in 1989. Since then the church has grown numerically and in ministry to the Houston community. Grace Cathedral has expanded in numerous ways under his leadership in order to accommodate its growth.

​Grace Cathedral outgrew the old sanctuary and moved to its present Sanctuary in 2001. The church continues to address the ills and meet the needs of the local community.

Dr. Taylor is committed to education and as a reflection of Dr. Taylors’ commitment to community transformation and social consciousness, he serves in various leadership capacities in organizations that champion social change and education. He served as president of the board of the North Forest ISD.

Dr. Taylor is married to Belinda Taylor, and they are the proud parents of Brandon Taylor, Shalanda Small, Sharlette Holmes, ReQuita Jacobs, Charles Taylor, Jr. and very proud grandparents of 14 grandchildren.
